Kogi Election: Collation Of Results Underway In Lokoja

The collation of results of the governorship election from across most parts of Kogi State has commenced in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital. This has gone according to the pronouncement of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to commence the exercise on Sunday morning.
Returning officers have filed in the results from each of the 21 local government areas of the state and the Resident Electoral Commissioners, journalists, party agents, observers and other stakeholders are also present at the INEC collation centre in Lokoja, the state capital.

No going back on Local Govt. Elections - Fayose

Gov. Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State on Sunday vowed that no circumstances would make him shift grounds on his plans to hold local government elections in the state on Dec. 19.The governor made the declaration at a ceremony organised to mark his 55th birthday in Ado-Ekiti. Fayose said that threats of boycott by any political party would not make him to jettison his plans to conduct the local government polls on that day.

Sanusi tells Diezani: You are a liar

The former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN governor and Emir of Kano, Mohammed Lamido Sanusi has said the embattled former petroleum resources minister, Diezani Allison-Madueke is “lying” over claim that he (Sanusi) came to lobby her for help over his interest in African Development Bank, AfDB presidency but came up with $20bn missing oil fund allegation because he lost out in getting the job.
Sanusi, speaking with Sunday Telegraph, said Diezani, battling breast cancer, was being economical with the truth in her interview with thebossnewspaper.com on his interest and how he lost the opportunity to head the continental financial institution.

The only Survivor of a Gory Accident along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

An accident occurred along Lagos-Ibadan express way in a J5 vehicle said to be coming from Lagos. The little boy pictured above is the only survivor. The accident happened last week Thursday. The boy have never spoken till date, he only responds to food and treatment. Everyone is dead except him, he had a bang on his head, could not talk 4 to 6 days now. No plate number, no infomation or identification was recovered from the car as it get completely burned with only the boy as survivor, and nothing could be recovered from him.

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets Wins U17 World Cup

The Nigeria U17 team, the Golden Eaglets, have successfully defended their FIFA U17 World Cup title after recording a 2-0 victory over their West African foes, Mali, in the early hours of Monday. Film crew attacked by angry Elephant | Photos

The team of wildlife photographers were shooting in the mountainous Limpopo Province of north east South Africa when the enraged young adult turned on them, ramming into the jeep and attempting to flip it with her tusks. The crew caught the hair-raising attack on camera as their driver desperately reversed in an attempt to escape, before smashing into a log on the road. Luckily none of the team were injured, although much of their camera equipment was destroyed in the alarming event that happened on October 27.

APC Senators disagree over N5,000 stipend for jobless Nigerians

The Senate chamber was in an uproar on Wednesday when senators of the All Progressives Party and those of the Peoples Democratic Party disagreed on the payment of N5,000 stipend to each jobless Nigerian. A Peoples Democratic Party senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Philip Aduda, had raised a prayer urging the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to fulfil one of its campaign promises of paying N5,000 to unemployed youths monthly nationwide.

Lai Mohammed will be a Minister without portfolio – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has come hard on the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Lai Mohammed, for claiming that the opposition party will likely go down if it does not urgently rebrand itself. In a statement issued by its spokesman, Olisa Metuh, on Saturday, the PDP described Mohammed, who is a Minister-designate, as “a quarrelsome and misguided individual” who will end up as a minister without portfolio in President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.
