Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson Resigns


There have been "egregious" threats against the Ferguson Police in the months since the killing of unarmed teen Michael Brown by Officer Darren Wilson pictured above, Mayor James Knowles said today, but he denied that the city asked the cop to leave the force.
Wilson, who resigned from the Ferguson Police Department on Saturday, five days after a grand jury declined to indict him in the killing, said in his resignation letter he was concerned about whether his continued presence on the force would endanger police.

Overland Airplane Crash-lands In Ilorin

An Overland Airlines plane from Abuja has reportedly crash-landed in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Below is a statement from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, about the incident;
   “An Overland flight 1186, an ATR 72 aircraft with Registration number 5N-BPG from Abuja airport to Ilorin, carrying fifty nine passengers and four crew members,veered off the runway at low speed after a normal landing at the Ilorin Airport. The incident which occurred today Saturday, November 29, at 4.45pm, has no casualty recorded. However, the Accident and Prevention Bureau in conjunction with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has begun an investigation into the cause of the incident. The authority wishes to use this medium to reassure Nigerians that safety of the traveling public is still paramount and cannot be compromised.”

KANO MOSQUE ATTACK: At least 120 dead, 270 wounded


 At least 120 people were killed and 270 others wounded on Friday when two suicide bombers blew themselves up and gunmen opened fire during weekly prayers at the mosque of one of Nigeria’s top Islamic leaders, AFP reports. The attack at the Grand Mosque in Kano, the biggest city in the mainly Muslim north of the country, came just as Friday prayers had started.

Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, on Wednesday lampooned the National Assembly, saying it is largely an assemblage of looters and thieves.
Mr. Obasanjo, who was speaking at the public presentation of the autobiography of Justice Mustapha Akanbi, in Abuja, regretted that every aspect of Nigeria’s national life is riddled with corruption.

Ikponmwen of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin, on charges bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence.
While Xavi was slammed with a 12-count charge, Aikhaituamen was docked on 6-count charge.
