PDP members will vote for me if I win APC ticket – Kwankwaso

Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Friday accused President Goodluck Jonathan of seeking a third term in office by taking part in the 2015 election. The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant made the claim at the APC national secretariat when he came to submit his nomination form to the party leaders.
Kwankwaso, while commenting on Jonathan’s eligibility to contest next year’s election, said the President would be seeking a third term into office, which the governor called “illegal”.
“As far as we are concerned, this government is having a second term in office. They had about two years before these four years. If you add the two, they cannot be four years.

“I have searched the Constitution many times from A to Z, I have not seen anything more than eight years and l don’t know how we are going to manage it and some people have gone to court, but we are taking them to the public court.”

Commenting on his chances, the Kano helmsman said “With my candidature, you can be rest assured that more than half of PDP members will vote for me during the general election, because many of them are my friends and they wanted to cross over to the APC, but for very obvious reasons, especially because of blackmail and intimidation.

“They are finding it extremely difficult to leave that party. We are happy that they are still there and we will meet with them during the general election,” he said.
