Newly appointed secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Babachir Lawal, says contrary to speculations, his appointment alongside 5 other appointees by President Buhari last week, was not based on tribal affiliations or religious belief.
“We did not have to pass examination to get appointed into these positions. It was not because of our tribes, or our faiths, or our political groups that we were considered worthy for these positions. If it is such, I am sure none of us would have been considered worthy of these appointments. We appreciate the president and we appreciate God that he has blessed us with these privileged appointments” he told reporters after his swearing in this morning.

Mimiko Raises Alarm over planned attack

 The Ondo State Government, Sunday, raised the alarm over alleged plans by “enemies of the state,” to embark on character assassination, outright falsehood and massive propaganda to undermine the government of the state.This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Information, Hon. Mr. Dele Ogundeyi, 65-year-old was missing,later family finds his corpse inside well,The lifeless body was on Saturday recovered from the well on the Aperan Way in Omu-Aran, Kwara. According to reports, Dele, 65, was before his death, a retired Secretary of Offa Local Government Area Liaison Office and hailed from Ile-Nla compound in Omu-Aran.

Nigerian Ambassador to The U.S. Ade Adefuye has died

Nigerian Ambassador to the US, Adebowale Ibidapo Adefuye has died. He died of an undisclosed ailment at a hospital in the US yesterday August 27th. He was planning to hand over to a new ambassador when he suddenly died yesterday. He was 68 years old.

A historian by training, Mr Adefuye hailed from Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun state. He studied at the University of Ibadan where he earned his first degree in 1969 as well as a PhD in history in 1973. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

The Court of Appeal in Lagos, on Wednesday, August 26,2015 upheld the victory of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in the 2015 governorship elections in the state. The decision was reached by a five-man appeal panel . The governor’s election victory had earlier been confirmed by the state election tribunal on July 1, 2015 which struck out Agbaje’s petition after declaring it incompetent.

Police Inspector Accidentally fired self while adjusting rifle in Lagos

It is a moment of grief at the Mobile Police Force 20, in the Ikeja area of Lagos, since Tuesday after a police inspector, identified simply as Medugwu, mistakenly shot himself dead, while adjusting a faulty rifle. The inspector, who was attached to MOPOL 20, was the second-in-command to the armourer. At 10am, a colleague had given him the faulty rifle to examine and readjust for him, Medugwu was said to have accidentally pulled the trigger of the rifle, which projected a bulletin to his jaw.
