The Court of Appeal in Lagos, on Wednesday, August 26,2015 upheld the victory of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in the 2015 governorship elections in the state. The decision was reached by a five-man appeal panel . The governor’s election victory had earlier been confirmed by the state election tribunal on July 1, 2015 which struck out Agbaje’s petition after declaring it incompetent.
Lagos Speaker hails the victory of Ambode at the appeal court, Rt.Hon. Obasa stated that “The verdicts of both the Election Petitions Tribunal and the Appeal Court are clear indications that the PDP and its candidate ought not to have challenged the results of the election in the first place because they were beaten fair and square,
