The Special Adviser on Media to the Speaker, Mallam Imam Imam, confirmed the purchase of the nomination form in a text message to Channels Television.
He said “earlier on Thursday some friends and political associates of the speaker notified him that they have bought the forms for him,”
When asked to name the group behind the nomination form and what was the response of the speaker when he was informed of the nomination form, Mallam Imam simply said
“He (Speaker) thanked them for considering him worthy to contest the highest office in the land”
If Honourable Tambuwal accepts to join the race, he would be contesting with five others, who have earlier picked their nomination forms on the platform of the APC.
The others in the race include former Head of State, retired General Muhammadu Buhari, former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State and Leadership Newspaper publisher, Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah.
