Senator Aisha Alhassan to Emerge as Taraba's Governor-elect

History has been made,for the first time a Female candidate wins an election in Nigeria. All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in Taraba State and serving senator, Aisha Jummai Alhassan

Reports from Taraba State say Jumai, the first female governorship candidate from the entire northern part of the country, won yesterday’s election. She ran on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan was elected Senator for the Taraba North constituency of Taraba State in the April 2011 Federal elections. She ran on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform but later defected to APC.
Though INEC is yet to officially announce her winner, Nigerians are already celebrating Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan’s feat on social media. Figures of the election will be posted soon
