Ex-Minister for State Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro has said he's sad but consoled that his 95-year-old mum, Alhaja Wasilat Obanikoro, died in the month of Ramadan.
The former ambassador made this known hours after gathered that he lost his mum in the early hours of Saturday, June 3, 2017.
"Alhaja Wasilat Obanikoro died in the early hours of this morning after a very brief illness at the ripe old age of 95.
"Her death is saddening but I and my siblings are consoled that it was peaceful, in her own bed and also in the Holy Month of Ramadan," Obanikoro said.
Obanikoro said his mum will be buried at the Ikoyi Cemetery by 2pm on Saturday, June 3, 2017 according to Islamic rites.
