Ondo tribunal: APC 's applications granted

The Ondo State Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Akure, the Ondo State Capital Yesterday granted all the application tendered before it by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates in the just-concluded National and House of Assembly elections in Ondo State.
This followed the motion on notice filed by its Counsels, Dr Tunji Abayomi and Titiloye Charles dated May 8. The Petitioners are relying on all the motions and arguments in the suit to prove their case before the tribunal.

Its Chairman, Justice Anthony Ogar scrutinized the applications and granted that the motions be used as evidences before the court. The tribunal also granted that substituted service of the applications on the respondents be done within the time frame as stipulated by the law.
Counsel to the defendants, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidates, Remi Olatubora had earlier told the Court that his clients were yet to be served the motion on notice. Olatubora said the party would file its defence application as soon as the motion on notice is received from the petitioners. The tribunal has commenced its sitting with 17 petitions from both the PDP and APC on the outcome of the last National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections in the state. Both parties have expressed confidence that their clients would get favourable judgment from the tribunal, arguing that they all had substantial evidences to buttress their petitions.
