1.The All Progressives Congress, APC, has thumbed down the emergence of Uche Secondus as national chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, amid allegations of rigging.
APC said reports of rigging during the election showed that PDP is rooted in corruption and cannot change, stating that South West Chairmanship candidates lost as a punishment for not voting for the Party in 2015.


2. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that the audit committee on asset recovery probes the administrations of former presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo, Musa Yar’Adua and Goodluck Jonathan.

SERAP, in a letter to Buhari, entitled “welcoming the inauguration of the Audit Committee on the Recovery and Management of Stolen Assets as a partial fulfilment of the judgment by Justice Idris,” requested Buhari to his “leadership position to strengthen and extend the mandate of the committee to cover the periods starting from the return of democracy in in 1999, as ordered by the court.”

3. Former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has spoken on the emergence of Uche Secondus as the PDP National Chairman.

Fani-Kayode while congratulating Secondus, praised Atiku on his speech at the convention, noting that time had come for the All Progressives Congress, APC, to be removed.

4. Former aide to ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a tyrant who should be removed from office in 2019.
In his tweets, he wrote, Atiku is the man who will democratically oust the tyrant, Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

5. President Muhammadu Buhari will today depart Nigeria for Paris, France to join over 50 world leaders for the One Planet Summit.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President will be accompanied by the governors of Adamawa, Kano and Ondo states and the ministers of Foreign Affairs and Environment.

6. Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, yesterday, scored the Federal Government very poor in terms of addressing poverty in the country.
Okorocha said 89 percent of Nigerians were not happy, noting that the vital expect of human existence had not been addressed in the country.

7. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen about N905, 941,696.87 in an account traced to a sole proprietorship company Rivlink International.
The huge inflows into the suspected slush account allegedly came from the Rivers State Environmental Sanitation Authority

8. Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana (SAN) has revealed where Boko Haram sect get ammunition.
Falana claimed that arms and ammunition used by terrorist sect are looted from the armory in Libya.

9. The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, has lamented the huge socio-economic cost of Boko Haram terrorism on Nigeria, saying the army has also suffered “tragic human loss.”
Buratai on Sunday noted that the insurgency jeopardised the peace and security of a number of states, the rights to life and the liberty of the people.

10. A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, has said President Muhammadu Buhari is bereft of the understanding of how a government should be run.
He also described the federal cabinet put together by Buhari as incompetent, saying the President is “sleeping on the job.
