Renowed technocrat, Gamaliel Onosode dies at 82

Renowned technocrat and former presidential candidate of the All Nigeria People's Party of Nigeria. Gamaliel Onosode has died at the age of 82. According to a statement by the family, Onosode died in early hours of today September 29th.

PDP calls Ambode's Commissioners List; ‘Mediocre’ list

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has lambasted Governor Akinwunmi Ambode over the list of commissioners and advisers he sent to the Lagos State House of Assembly. The Lagos PDP Publicity Secretary, Taofik Gani, told DAILY POST in an interview on Monday that most of the nominees were not competent but were only named based on sentiment. Gani said two of the nominees, Lola Akande and Deji Tinubu, are relatives of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. While Akande is the sister of Tinubu’s wife, Senator Remi Tinubu, the other nominee, Deji, is the nephew of the APC leader.

Olu Falae reveals Ordeal; after Kidinapped and released.

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Onetime presidential candidate, Chief Olu Falae, who was kidinapped on Monday September 21st by suspected fulani herdsmen and released on Thursday September 24th, has confirmed that a ransom was paid by his family members for his release. Speaking to journalists at his home in Akure, Ondo state yesterday Sept. 28th, Falae said his abductors threatened to kill him on Wednesday September 23rd at about 3pm if the ransom was not paid but thankfully 20 minutes to 3pm, his abductors came to him and told him”the money don complete”.

Close to two years after Paul Walker’s death in a tragic car crash, his daughter, Meadow Walker is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche.TMZ was first to report the lawsuit by Walker’s daughter. According to court documents obtained by E! News, the 16-year-old and her lawyers allege that the Porsche Carrera GT “lacked safety features…that could have prevented the accident or, at a minimum, allowed Paul Walker to survive the crash.”

20 Nigerian pilgrims die in Mecca

20 Nigerian pilgrims have so far died in Saudi Arabia since the beginning of the hajj. Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Abdullahi Mukhtar, who made this known at a pre-Arafat meeting at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia today, said 14 pilgrims died due to cardiac arrest and other ailments, while six lost their lives at the September 11 crane crash.

109-year-old British woman says 'Whiskey is the secret to long life'

Grace Jones of Broadway, Worcestershire who celebrated her 109th birthday revealed in an interview with BBC that the secret to her longevity is whiskey.
"I don't drink but I have a little drop of whiskey every night," she said.
She is the oldest person in the county and has received her sixth card from the Queen. Despite her old age, Jones said apart from hearing loss, she feels about the same as she did in her sixties. I feel she's just enjoying her long life grace. Wink

The "soku dale" meal called the Perfect Meal

 This meal pictured above is to some Nigerians A perfect Lunch..But not for Ajebo( Rich) That's what some say.  Lol... Beans, Bread and Fanta, some say is "Soku dale"  meaning "Rise from dead" Kind of meal . It is believed to be eaten by mostly average Nigerians and it is believed to be a good meal for Breakfast or Lunch, mostly not advised for dinner.
Beans known for it's high protein content , bread with carbohydrates, calories and Fanta with Sugar. My lil research tho. But If all taken in proper proportion . This Meal pictured above is a perfect meal. Anyway what's your rate on the combination?

Mama HID Awolowo dies at 99

Chief (Mrs) Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, the matriarch of the Awolowo family and wife of late Obafemi Awolowo has died. She passed on in her sleep today September 19th at her Ikenne, Ogun state home at age 99, just two months before turning 100. She was born on November 25, 1915.  May her soul rest in peace, Amen.

The king of Dubia's first son dies of heart attack

The prince of Dubai, Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the first son of Dubai’s ruler/Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has died. He died very early this morning from what the family say is a heart attack at age 33. He wasn't the heir apparent to the throne though, his younger, Sheikh Hamdan, is.

Okada rider violently rapes 14 year old girl in Lagos

 An okada rider raped a 14 year old teenager who was returning home from visiting her aunt's shop.
According to a report by Punch, the teenager, currently an apprentice at her aunty’s cake shop was a virgin, until she lost it violently to the okada rider. (pictured right after he was caught and beaten)The teenager who was visibly and emotionally in pain said she'd never forgive her rapist, identified as Sharafa Wasiu, for violating her, she also wished him death, “because of what he did to me. I feel sad anytime I remember that day.”

Somali soldiers killed in Shebab attack

Tragedy: Policemen shoot at couple, kill wife.

Nigerian Policemen has turned to be killers instead of securing life and property ...Tragedy struck on Thursday at Ijegun Road in the Alimosho area of Lagos State, after a woman, Idongesit Ekpo, and her husband, Godwin, were shot by a team of policemen attached to the Isheri Osun Police Division. Idongesit died on the spot, while Godwin was said to be gasping for breath at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where he was taken for treatment.

A Kenyan Politician,member of Kenya Parliament, identified as David Gikaria, has advised men to marry more than one wife as one way of combating prostitution.
Speaking at a free medical camp he recently organized in his Constituency, the politician who has three wives said that prostitution was on the increase in Kenyan towns because women lack husbands. He also noted that if men marry more than one wife, prostitution would end because all single women will get husbands.

Man jailed for life for raping his 6 and 9 year old daughters

A 37-year old South African man has been sentenced to life in prison for raping his two young daughters‚ Gauteng police said in a statement.
The man‚ who has not being named to protect his daughters’ was arrested in 2013 when the girls were six and nine years old respectively. According to reports, the man who is their biological Dad abused them repeatedly but the kids were too frightened to say anything.
