There is no one line life whose story cannot change. David was not known until he was able to defeat Goliath and from then on, he was standing before King Saul. David's situation may not have changed if he had allowed his brothers' discouragement to affect him. Many of God's children get tired after praying for five minutes. There is no replacement for doing the right thing in order to get the results we desire. Some students only study once and claim to know it all - the result is that they keep failing, unless such is a genius. You are expected to study hard to achieve the best you possibly can achieve.
God expects the best from us in every area of life including excellence in our studies. There is no substitute (replacement) for excellence as far as God is concerned. To make it to Heaven, you must be hard working and God will reward your hard work. There is no replacement for hard work in a person's life. Hard work takes you to places of honour and allows you meet great people that lazy people will never cross paths with. God never calls a lazy person. It takes hard work to get to the top and remain there. The summary is that you need to work hard to make it to Heaven.
