Topic: Freedom John 8:32
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" . Please read John 8:31-36
Freedom is generally defined as the power of self-determination that is attributed to a person's will. It is simply the power to act,speak or think as you want without constraint or restriction. The freedom that Jesus gives is set free from the power of the devil, sin, sickness, poverty and failure. This freedom is available to born-again children of God who have been set free by the blood of Jesus. This freedom however does not mean disobedience to the word and will of God. This freedom is also a freedom of choice to obey God, follow him and do his will and to reject the devil and his influence in one's life.
The free that Jesus promised His followers is not a freedom to become lawless. It comes with the condition to obey the word of God .
Jesus says, if you continue in His word, you will come face to face with the truth, and the truth in the word of God will then set you free (John 8:31-32). Freedom is not always easy to understand but God offers us freedom and he expects us to accept it with thanksgiving. Jesus Christ offers freedom in the spirit to anyone who wants to be free from the devil and his works. The choice is yours on whether you accept this freedom or not.
Prayer point: Father, please let the truth of your word continue to make me free IJN. Amen
